Our Beginnings

"Protagonist" was founded from the "Fryma e Dashurise" foundation, an organization for education and progress founded by the Archbishop Anastasios of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania. The school was opened on September 2002, to offer a new opportunity for education and learning in Albania. The school is approved and licensed by the Ministry of Education.

Our Philosophy

We believe that our school has a strong relation between students, teachers and parents who all work together in order to build a lifetime knowledge. We believe that each student has dignity and deserves respect. The children are individuals that have their own thoughts, feelings and interests. The abilities and what each one of them can offer should be protected and nurtured inside a positive environment.

We believe that children have a birthright to learn and the experience of our school will naturally support them. We also believe that a complete education will prepare them for the future, keeping always in mind their physical, intellectual, emotional, social and, of course, spiritual needs. To each student we try to cultivate abilities and knowledge that will make them successful in their professional and personal lives.

Our Mission

As a school, we will educate the students in an warm, respectful atmosphere, by encouraging them to express their ideas. We will provide them with learning experiences through activities that will make them put their learning and logic to use.  We also place them into team groups in order for them to learn in an active process instead of a passive one. By helping each one of them, we will try to improve the abilities of each student. We will provide them the necessary tools to prepare them for future education and we will also make them able to face the challenges they may face in the future by teaching to them values, improving their critical thinking, computer use, and English literacy.

We will try to make them believe in themselves, and of course make them responsible persons and leaders.  All these concepts are necessary to make them a vital part of a civilized world. Also we will teach them how to find solutions between conflicts, how to build social relationships, how to care about the environment and, of course, how to respect themselves and others. We have built an environment that allows the students to achieve results from the very first steps and will prepare them for a successful life.
