Subject: Teacher Training—How to be an Effective Teacher

As an Albanian American school registered with the Ministry of Education, we are proud to learn and apply current methods of teaching that are being used in the West.  As director to the school, I have access to valuable information on helping our teachers to continually improve in their profession and hence become more effective teachers.

Our goal is to reach not only the minds of our students, but their hearts as well.  On Friday, September 7, 2012, we held a school-wide (grades 1-10) teacher training with the theme of “How to Become an Effective Teacher.”  This was an excellent start to the new school year, reminding and motivating our teachers on the key points of our profession.

We focused on how to make a positive beginning to the new year and the importance of “first impressions.”  As the American expression says:  “You do not get a second chance to make a first impression.”  So, we shared ideas on what works and what does not work.  It is a balance of taking a personal interest in our students, building relationships, and helping them to reach as high as they can toward their full potential.

We all agreed that teaching your children is a PRIVILEGE, as well as our duty.

We hope to continue with regular teacher trainings to keep our school at the high standard it presently enjoys.

Here’s to a successful school year.

Best wishes,
