Brief Overview
Protagonist School was established by the “Spirit of Love” foundation, a non-for-profit organization for education and progress, founded by the Archbishop Anastasios of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania. The school was opened in September 2002 to offer a new opportunity for education and learning in Albania. The school is approved and licensed by the Ministry of Education, according to order no. 95, dt. 16.04.2003.
Students follow the state curriculum with additional instruction in the English language and computer science. Students are taught English from the first grade through high school, and the program of study is under the supervision of American teachers. In the third grade, students begin instruction in the Greek language.
Current teaching methods, including those used in America, give students a new and unique experience. Emphasis is on teacher training, and advanced western influence make the school unique.
In May 2012, Protagonist School was granted the license for General Secondary Education thus establishing Protagonist High School. Grades 10 and 11 will be offered in the academic school year 2012-2013. The excellence and top reputation that Protagonist School has enjoyed for its first 10 years will now extend into quality secondary education with a high standard of learning and focused college preparation.
